As the year comes to a close we at Ride Bikes Wales take a stroll back through the highlights of 2016...

E-bikes Rule!

E-bikes have taken off in a big way this year, both hybrid and mountain models. Alun has enjoyed adventuring on the Trek Powerfly, one of his favourite rides of the year was over the Bwlch with Stuart and Mike. We are so lucky to have such beautiful scenery on our doorstep.

Beth's Ride Across Britain Journey

RBW's Bethan trained all year for the biggest cycling challenge of her life- riding the length of the country following the famous Lands End to John O Groats route this September.

With 969 Miles and 15,000m of climbing to cover in just 9 days, it was a challenge to remember. Beth raised £900 for two special causes, the Stroke Association and British Heart Foundation. You can read more about her adventures here, and if you like yo can still donate on her Justgiving Page

Cross!

Young Tom's highlight of the year was finally learning to bunny hop at Llanishen Cyclo-cross! Here he is at Llanishen riding his favourite bike of the year, the Trek Procaliber...

Maintenance on the move

RBW mechanics Tom and Mike have supported many local clubs and charity cycling events this year by providing mobile mechanical support. Here is Mike helping out at the annual 2 Wish Upon a Star "Wickets and Wheels" event.

Off to Kona!

Stuart was lucky enough this year to fly out and watch the Ironman World Championship taking place in Kona, Hawaii and to see friend of the shop Gerwyn Davies compete in his age group and put in an excellent time in the gruelling heat.

Racing Season

This year RBW's Chris Jones and Kari Jones have flown the flag for Ride Bikes Wales in various time-trialling distances.

Both Chris and Kari have had fantastic seasons this year. Kari came out on top amongst the female competitors, including for her very first 100 mile time trial. Well done Kari! Chris has put some fantastic TT times in including a 19 minute 10 miles- Cor!

On the MTB scene, Ryan Lewis has also ridden for RBW and put in some fantastic perfomances including 4th overall in The Welsh Gravity Enduro Series- amazing effort!

Thanks very much to our customers for your continued support this year.

We hope you've had a good year out on the bike and look forward to hearing all about your cycling goals for next year. See you on the other side in 2017- the kettle's always on!
