A new short film honours the historic perfect season of Trek Factory Racing’s Rachel Atherton
In her first year with Trek Factory Racing Downhill, Rachel Atherton (GB) won every UCI World Cup event and the World Championships, achieving the first-ever perfect season in the history of mountain biking.
It’s an accomplishment so exceptional that it may never be repeated. After her unprecedented 2016 season, Rachel was awarded Pinkbike’s Athlete of the Year and BT Sport Action Woman of the Year, amongst others.
To honour Rachel’s extraordinary achievement, Trek has unveiled a short film called “The Perfect Season.” The film traces Atherton’s season from the early races to the World Championships in Val di Sole, and provides an intimate behind-the-scenes look into the motivations of one most accomplished athletes in the history of mountain biking.
